About Susan
Susan K. Flinn has worked in public health and public policy since 1989 and specializes in reproductive and sexual health, and pediatrics. Since 1998, she has provided consulting services for non-profit organizations as well as State and Federal governmental agencies. The author of numerous publications, Ms. Flinn researches, drafts, and edits materials for a range of audiences, including policymakers, providers, and the general public. She also assists non-profit organizations with a variety of short and long-term projects, including development activities and meeting planning. In general, she helps her clients work more efficiently and get more done.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Ms. Flinn was the Director of Legislative Affairs at Advocates for Youth, a non-profit that promotes adolescent sexual and reproductive health. At Advocates, she represented these issues before state and national policymakers, supervised staff and interns, raised the departmental budget from foundations, and wrote numerous publications on adolescent reproductive health. She has also worked at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland. Click here for Ms. Flinn’s resume.
Ms. Flinn has served on multiple Boards of Directors, including the National Assembly on School Based Health Care (NASBHC), the Washington Celiac Sprue Support Group, Metro TeenAIDS, the Bryn Mawr College Alumnae Association, the Bryn Mawr Club of Washington DC, and the Lantern Bookshop.
She holds an M.A. in Public Policy and Women’s Studies from George Washington University and a B.A. in Urban/Art History from Bryn Mawr College.
